Elliott Wave Blog: Review of the best Elliott Wave Blogs

Elliott Wave blogs, written by serious market students of Elliott Waves, provides an excellent resource to track current market conditions and future forecasts based on Elliott Waves. For those who are new to Elliott waves, these are patterns in stock price movements (or as purists like to say, patterns in social moods) that move three steps forward and two steps back - in either a bullish or bearish direction, depending on the underlying trend. Elliott Wave International, run by Robert Prechter, is one of the premier institutions whose specialists spend all their time looking at Elliott Waves. However, they are not the only specialists in Elliott Waves, and several good blogs on this subject exist. Here is a review of some of the best Elliot Wave Blogs on the net.

  1. Trending Waves: An understated blog on Elliott Waves, updated daily, focused on applying Elliott Wave analysis to the broad stock market indices. The writer applies traditional technical analysis in addition to Elliott Wave analysis to forecast market trends, and has developed a knack for generating above average accurate predictions.
  2. The Elliot Wave Lives On: A popular blog with regular updates on market action and corresponding Elliot Wave interpretation and forecast for the markets. Covers US and Europe and Asian markets, very useful in this globally connected marketplace. Periodically also covers precious metals sector, and also provides weekend updates. You must have some prior knowledge of Elliott waves to take advantage of this blog.
  3. Elliot Wave International Education: While not a true blog, this page gives you a lot of information and resources to learn about Elliott Waves. The site is updated and maintained by Elliott Wave International.
  4. Daneric's Elliot Waves: A blog with brief updates on the market and an Elliott Wave interpretation of the same. Chart rich site, but explanations are not very detailed. The site has significant following from other serious market students, and one can glean a lot of interesting information from those who post comments on the site.
  5. Principle Analysis: An Elliott Wave Blog: A blog with a mixture of author's comments and posts from Elliott Wave International. Some of the other blogs mentioned above are written by folks more seasoned in this space, though they do require pre-existing knowledge of Elliott Waves.
  6. Kennys Elliott Waves Blog: Primarily consisting of postings from Elliott Wave International, nevertheless, Kenny posts interesting material from the professionals at Elliott Wave International. Interspersed with interviews and Kenny's own comments, this blog is a nice complement to Elliott Wave International's own site.

For those who are looking to add Elliott Waves to your investing arsenal, we would recommend signing-up (free) with ClubEWI at Elliott Wave International and taking advantage of the large number of resources they have. We would also recommend browsing articles on this site under the Elliott Waves department. There are important caveats in using Elliott Waves, just as with any Technical Analysis tools - and that is - you must always see the whole picture and understand when it gives you the best indications. No technical analysis tool works all the time, and this is true for Elliott Waves as well. They are excellent at spotting extreme emotions, great at spotting intermediate trend changes, and if the market structure supports it, even great at minute twists and turns. But again, these situations do not occur all the time - and it is important that you learn when to apply Elliott Waves to your own analysis!

Happy investing!
