"The ease it produces inside you?" - What does that have to do with my job? Isn't a job supposed to be hard work?
A job is hard work for someone viewing from outside, but for one who is working from within; it should come easily, naturally, without any stress. Any form of true work is a form of an offering from us to the Universe that sustains and feeds us, and in that spirit, just as a plant grows naturally and effortlessly, so should our own movements - in body, mind and spirit - while executing that job. The creativity that flows through when you are in complete harmony with your task, and the "good luck" that you enjoy when in that state, are, to put it mildly, astounding.
So how does one find such a job for oneself? Websites such as careerbuilder.com, jobs.com and others can help you find the right job, but these are the last steps in your journey for finding your best job in the world, not first.
The first step is to take a close inventory of your areas of work in the past, with a keen eye on where you have been headed in the last 3-5 years. Also pay some attention to your inner feelings as you go through your history. There will be certain jobs that make your heart sing again, and others that - though valuable when seen from a social lens - were not so delightful to work on. This will quickly begin giving you insights about the nature of jobs where you usually excel.
The second step, after having taken a close inventory of your past jobs, is to meditate silently and listen for any words of wisdom from within yourself. Do not begin thinking - simply sit silently and let the thoughts emerge. Do not chase these thoughts, but wait for any movement that urges action. If you do not get anything, then perhaps you already are in a job that is a perfect vehicle to express your full potential, naturally and easily. Repeat this exercise every few days, even as you continue to gather additional inventory of your skills, knowledge, areas of past interest and so forth.
