Every significant change - whether it is in society or at the individual level, is achieved after a struggle. This struggle may sometimes be a clash between two forces, a test of resistance and endurance, while at other times it may be a challenge to "not struggle", and to instead simply accept.
We are familiar with the former type of struggle in the form of an individual's will-power, guts and gumption to achieve extra-ordinary deeds. The latter form of struggle is when you realize that it is better to drop a fight, to leave a project alone, to accept the reality of an unpleasant situation. Sometimes this is called the non-resistance and acceptance pathway. This is just as, if not more, important than the obvious visible struggles.
Learning something new, mastering a known craft, venturing into an endeavor - all call upon us to pay the entry fees through some form of struggle. This is the fuel for your achievements as well as the purifier that brings out the best in you.
While it is easy to talk about items like "seven steps to unlimited wealth", "make $100,000/day while snoozing" - which like to present the story of attaining financial wealth as some secret magic potion - very few wish to talk about the struggles behind every true success story. The many hours of work, the many failures, the difficult times when the feeling to quit was strong and overpowering - who wants to hear about that?
The reward for this struggle however, is sweet.
No, it is not just in terms of monetary achievement, but of finally "getting it". Knowing what works and what does not. Knowing that if you were stripped of all your material possessions, you will rebuild your empire in double-quick time.
That is freedom.
Being and doing implies working with full consciousness and awareness towards your goals. And not losing yourself in the doing to the point where you are forgetful of your totality.
Your awareness at all times alone will help you with the second form of struggle - one where you must know when to fold, when to simply accept a situation and move on. While your ability "to do" is what will sustain you through the visible struggles.
Ask any enterprising entrepreneur, this latter decision to accept and move on is one of the most difficult decisions to make - and yet success will test you in both realms - the visible and the hidden.
Be aware. Be a doer.
