Secret of the Zen Art of Building Wealth [Wealth Secret]

We love heroes. We love those who hit the home-runs. We love that killer dunk!

However, the real power of any team, society or country rests on those who make those steady singles and doubles. For they add up - quickly.

In the pathway towards financial freedom, small improvements in different aspects of your finance:

  • Income
  • Spending
  • Saving &
  • Investing

can cause exponential growth differences in your net worth.

Take a simplistic example:

Bob earns $50,000/year, and spends $45,000, saving $5000 (let us exclude taxes and other considerations for simplicity, it does not change the point being conveyed). Bob then invests this $5000 in the S&P 500 Index fund that returns 7%/year over the next 5 years.

After 5 years, Bob's net worth would be: $34,877

Bob now decided to pick himself up and makes small but significant enhancements in each area:

  • His income goes up by 10% - to $55,000/year

  • He reduces his spending by 5% - $42,750
  • His savings are $12,250/year!
  • He becomes a better investor with the help of investment newsletters which now return at 10%/year for the next 5 years.

Assuming a starting savings amount of $0.00, after 5 years his net-worth would be: $74,787!

That is a 114% improvement in just 5 years!

This shows how small changes in each aspect of his life and finance have an exponentially large impact on his overall net-worth. The singles and doubles do multiply rapidly!

It is this type of improvement that drives a select few individuals to seek out the essentially risk-free but valuable enhancements in all areas of their finances. And this is what we call as the Zen Art to Wealth Building.

This goes against the grain of the majority which runs after that hot Internet stock, or tries trading in risky markets. These areas hold out the possibility of that home run, but the risk involved is no less than gambling on a blackjack table in Vegas. It will serve you far better to focus on things that you know and understand and can immediately improve. While not as exciting, the long term results will please you beyond your dreams!
